Rehearse asks you to practice conversations that matter — out loud, and sometimes about real people and real pressure at work. That deserves a plain account of what happens to what you say. This is it.

    1. Who we are

Rehearse is an app for practicing difficult workplace conversations out loud with an AI character, and getting feedback on how it went. It is built and operated by Mobil80 Solutions and Services Pvt. Ltd., a company incorporated in India (“Mobil80”, “we”, “us”).

This policy covers the Rehearse app for iPhone and Android, the Rehearse for Teams portal, and this website.

On a personal account — one you set up for yourself — Mobil80 is the data fiduciary under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the data controller under the EU and UK GDPR and similar laws: the organization that decides why and how your data is used.

On a Rehearse for Teams account — one your employer gives you — your employer decides why your Teams data is processed and what its admins can see, so your employer is the controller (data fiduciary) of that data, and Mobil80 processes it on your employer’s behalf under our agreement with them. Section 3 explains exactly what that means for you.

For questions or requests about your data, email akil@rehearsenow.app. To raise a complaint, see Contact and grievances.

    2. The short version

    • We don’t record your voice. Audio is streamed live so the character can answer you, and is never stored.
    • Transcripts are deleted after 30 days, and feedback and session records after 90.
    • We don’t sell your data, show you ads, or use your conversations to train AI models.
    • On a personal account, nobody you rehearse about sees anything — not your manager, your team or your employer.
    • If your employer gives you Rehearse through Rehearse for Teams, its admins and program leads can see your activity, scores and progress — never your transcripts or audio, and never a rehearsal’s feedback unless you choose to share it. Exactly what they see.
    • You can delete everything from inside the app, whenever you like.
    • A small number of our staff can read a transcript when there’s a reason to, such as helping you with a problem. Here’s exactly who.

This summary isn’t the whole policy. The sections below are.

    3. If you use Rehearse through your employer (Rehearse for Teams)

Rehearse for Teams is the version of Rehearse a company buys for its people. The company takes a number of seats, gives them to its managers, and runs the program through a web portal. If you’re on one of those seats, this section applies to you on top of the rest of this policy. If you aren’t, it doesn’t, and nothing here changes the promise above about personal accounts.

How you end up on a Teams seat

    • Your company invites you by email, and you sign in to Rehearse with that address; or
    • your company has turned on join by work-email domain, and you sign in to the app or the portal with an email address at that company’s domain while it has a free seat. This can happen to an account you first set up yourself, if you signed up with your work email. Personal email domains, such as Gmail, are never joined this way.

Once you hold a seat, your company’s seat may also top up your credits each month.

    Who can see what

In the portal, a company has three kinds of people: company admins and program leads, who look after the program, and managers, who practice. Managers can see only their own practice. Company admins and program leads can see the following about each person on the company’s seats, person by person, by name:

    WhatDetails
Who you are at workYour name, work email, job title, team, role in the portal, status (invited, active or inactive) and the date you joined
ActivityHow many rehearsals you’ve done, how many minutes you’ve practiced, and the date of your last practice
ScoresYour average score, your first score, and your averages for the four skills: clarity, empathy, assertiveness and structure
Program progressHow far you are through a program your company has assigned you
Real conversationsHow many real conversations you planned and how many you debriefed afterwards, and how many went well, okay or badly — the verdict only, not anything you wrote about it
SharingWhether you’ve shared any rehearsal with them

Only practice you do while you hold the seat is counted. Rehearsals of scenarios you write yourself are included in your activity and scores, but the scenario itself — its title and what you wrote — stays private.

They can also see company-wide figures: totals and averages by team, weekly trends, which scenarios are used and their average scores, and how real conversations went across the company. A team only appears in the team breakdown if it has four or more active people, so a small group’s figures can’t point at one person. That rule applies to team charts only: it doesn’t hide anyone’s individual figures listed above.

And they can read messages in the portal: company admins and program leads can read every conversation thread between the company’s admins and managers, including yours. Company admins, but not program leads, also see the company’s billing and invoices, which aren’t about you.

    What your company never sees

    • Your transcripts, or anything else you said in a rehearsal — except the short quote in a rehearsal you choose to share (below).
    • Your audio. Sessions aren’t recorded, so there is no audio for anyone to see.
    • Scenarios you write for yourself.
    • The feedback on any rehearsal you haven’t shared.
    • What you wrote about how a real conversation went. They see only the verdict.

    If you share a rehearsal

You can choose to share a single rehearsal with your company’s admins and program leads. Nothing is shared unless you switch it on for that rehearsal. When you do, they see a snapshot of that one rehearsal:

    • the scenario title, the date and how long it ran;
    • its score and the four skill scores;
    • up to three things you did well, the “try next” tip and the closing line;
    • “the moment that mattered”: a short quote of something you said, what it cost you in the conversation, and what to say instead.

They don’t see the transcript or the rest of the conversation. You can un-share a rehearsal at any time while you hold the seat, and the snapshot disappears from the portal. A snapshot is a copy, so it stays until you un-share it, even after the rehearsal’s own transcript and feedback are deleted on the usual schedule.

    Who decides

For Teams accounts, your employer decides why your Teams data is used, which of its people are admins or program leads, and whether to turn on things like join by work-email domain. We process that data for your employer under a data processing agreement, and we still apply this policy’s protections to it: the deletion schedule, no AI training, limits on our own staff’s access, and what your company can’t see. We built Rehearse for Teams so that your company can’t see more than this section describes, and if that ever changes we’ll update this section first.

Your employer is responsible for telling you what it does with the information it sees, and for having a lawful reason to use it. Ask your HR team or program lead how your company uses it.

    When you leave the seat

If your company removes you, or you delete your Rehearse account, your company’s access ends from then on: your member entry and your per-person figures are removed from the portal, and nothing you practice afterwards is counted. If you keep your Rehearse account, it carries on as a personal account, and the personal-account promise in this policy applies to it again.

A few things stay with the company:

    • company-wide and weekly figures that already included your practice, which aren’t shown against your name;
    • messages in portal threads;
    • any rehearsal snapshot you shared and didn’t un-share. Un-share them before you leave, or email akil@rehearsenow.app and we’ll remove them.

    Questions

About how your employer uses what it sees, ask your employer. About Rehearse itself, or to make a request about your data, email akil@rehearsenow.app. Because your employer is the controller of your Teams data, we may pass a request about that data to your employer, or ask you to contact them, and we’ll tell you if we do.

    4. Information you give us

    WhatDetailsWhy we need it
Email addressThe address you sign in with. We email it a one-time code each time you sign in; there is no password. To create your account, sign you in and contact you about it.

On Rehearse for TeamsYour work email, name, job title and team, which your company may enter or edit, and messages you send in the portal. To give you a seat and run your company’s program.

“How work has felt lately” is not a health question. It’s a simple workload signal. We don’t ask about medical or mental health conditions, we don’t treat your answer as health information, and we use it only to adjust the tone and pace of your practice. It isn’t shown to your company on Rehearse for Teams.

You can update your setup answers at any time from Profile → Reset onboarding.

    5. Information created when you practice

    WhatDetailsWhy
Your voice, liveWhile a session runs, your microphone audio is streamed in real time to our AI provider so the character can hear and answer you. We don’t record sessions or store the audio. To hold the conversation.
TranscriptsThe text of what you and the character said.So you can look back at the conversation, and so we can write your feedback.
Feedback and scoresScores for clarity, empathy, assertiveness and structure, and written notes on what went well and what to try next.To show you how you did and how you’re improving.
Session recordsWhich scenario you practiced, voice or avatar mode, when it started and ended, and how long it ran.For your history, to charge the right number of credits, and to spot sessions that failed.
Practice daysThe dates you practiced, and for how many minutes. For your streak calendar.
Credit historyCredits added, reserved for a session, charged and returned. To keep your balance accurate and answer questions about it.
Teams figuresOnly if you hold a Teams seat: the per-person and company figures described in section 3.To show your company how its program is going.

Your camera is never used. In avatar mode the character’s face is video sent to you; nothing is filmed on your side.

    6. Information collected automatically

    • Time zone. So a late-night session counts towards the right day on your streak.
    • Purchases. If you subscribe or buy credits, Apple or Google tells our subscriptions provider, RevenueCat, what you bought: the plan or pack, the store, transaction identifiers, and when it renews or ends. We never receive your card or bank details.
    • Product analytics. Where analytics is switched on in the app, our analytics provider, Layers, receives your account ID, basic device information and in-app events: finishing setup, starting or completing a session (with the scenario, voice or avatar mode and duration), viewing feedback (with your score), opening the plans screen and completing a purchase. On Android, Layers also receives your device’s advertising ID, which we use to understand how people find and install Rehearse. It isn’t sent if you’ve opted out of ads personalization, and you can reset or delete it at any time in your phone’s settings. On iPhone, Rehearse doesn’t ask for tracking permission, so Layers doesn’t receive your advertising identifier. Layers doesn’t receive your voice, transcripts or email address.
    • Technical and security information. When your device connects, our hosting and connection providers process your IP address and basic connection details. Our own server logs record account and session identifiers, timestamps and error details. Email addresses are masked in those logs, and what you say in a session is not written to them.

    Permissions the app asks for

Microphone, so you can practice out loud. On Android the app also uses nearby devices (to connect a Bluetooth headset), network status, and a wake lock that keeps the screen on during a call.

Rehearse doesn’t access your camera, location, contacts or photos. The advertising ID used on Android is described under Product analytics above.

    What we don’t do

    • We don’t sell or rent your personal data.
    • We don’t show ads, and we don’t use your data to target ads at you.
    • We don’t use your conversations, transcripts, feedback or scenarios to train AI models.
    • On a personal account, we don’t share your practice with your employer, colleagues or anyone you rehearse about. On a Teams seat, your company sees only what section 3 lists.
    • We don’t make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects. Scores exist only to help you practice.

    8. How the AI works

    The conversation

The character you talk to is an AI voice model provided by OpenAI. During a session your microphone audio is streamed to it live, and it speaks back. It’s set up with the scenario and the character’s personality, and may include your name and relevant setup answers so it fits you. Rehearse works in English; speech in other languages may be ignored.

    The face

In avatar mode, Anam turns the character’s speech into a talking face. Anam receives the character’s voice, not yours: your microphone audio isn’t sent to Anam. Voice-only mode doesn’t use Anam at all.

    Your feedback

After a session, the transcript is sent to OpenAI to produce your scores and written feedback. It’s generated by AI, so it can be wrong or miss context. Treat it as a practice aid, not a verdict.

    Checking your own scenarios

When you write a scenario, its text is checked with OpenAI’s moderation service before it’s saved. If it’s flagged as harmful — for example harassment, threats, self-harm, or sexual content involving minors — we refuse it, point you towards real help where that’s appropriate, and don’t save it. Scenarios a company writes for its people on Rehearse for Teams are checked the same way.

    Training

We don’t use your conversations, transcripts, feedback or scenarios to train AI models. OpenAI’s API terms state that data sent through its API is not used to train its models by default.

The characters and their faces are synthetic. They aren’t real people and don’t represent anyone.

    9. Who we share it with

We use these providers to run Rehearse. Each receives only what it needs for its part. The same list, with what each does on Rehearse for Teams, is on our subprocessors page.

Apple and Google handle app downloads, payments and refunds as independent companies, under their own privacy policies rather than on our instructions.

Your employer, if you hold a Rehearse for Teams seat, sees what section 3 describes, and nothing more.

Other times we may share information

    • When the law requires it — for example a valid court order or a lawful request from a government authority.
    • To protect people — to prevent fraud or abuse, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or Mobil80.
    • If our business changes hands — in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your data may pass to the new owner, who must continue to honor this policy. We’ll tell you before that happens.
    • With your permission — in any other case, only if you ask us to.

    10. Who at Mobil80 can see your data

Our team runs Rehearse through an internal admin tool. What someone can see depends on their role:

    RoleCan see
AnalyticsTotals and trends only, such as how many sessions ran today. No names, email addresses or conversations.
SupportYour account details, plan and credits, session history, and the transcripts and feedback for your sessions.
OperationsEverything Support can see, and can also prepare a copy of your data or suspend an account.
OwnersEverything, including deleting accounts and managing who has access.

Staff open a transcript only when there’s a reason to: you asked for help with a session, a session or its feedback failed, or a scenario may break our Terms. Sensitive actions — changing someone’s credits or plan, and suspending, exporting or deleting an account — are recorded in an audit log. Support staff can add internal notes to an account; those notes are deleted with it.

Our staff also manage Rehearse for Teams company accounts — seats, contracts, invoices and settings — through the same tool. That doesn’t give your company any of the access our staff have.

    11. How long we keep it

    InformationKept for
Your voiceNot kept. Streamed live and never stored.
    Transcripts30 days after the session
Feedback and scores90 days after they’re written
Session records90 days after the session starts
Credit history180 days after each entry
Practice days, for your streak400 days
Purchase and billing records400 days, including after you delete your account
Audit log entries about staff actions on your account, such as a credit change or an account deleted at your request400 days, including after you delete your account
Profile, setup answers, credit balance, plan, your own scenarios and support notesUntil you delete your account
Teams: your per-person figures in your company’s portalWhile you hold the seat. Removed when you leave it or delete your account.
Teams: the company’s daily figures, and its log of admin actions in the portalAbout one year
Teams: a rehearsal snapshot you sharedUntil you un-share it, or the company’s account is closed
Teams: portal messagesWhile the company’s account exists
A copy of your data that we prepare for youThe download link expires after 7 days
BackupsUp to 35 days after data is removed from the live service
Aggregate statisticsKept, but contain nothing that identifies you

Automatic deletion normally completes within a few days of the dates shown. Server logs are kept to operate and secure the service.

    12. Deleting your data

Delete your account from inside the app: Profile → Delete account. It takes effect immediately and removes your profile and setup answers, every session, transcript and piece of feedback, your own scenarios, your credit balance and history, your streak, and your sign-in account. If you hold a Teams seat, it also gives up the seat and removes your per-person figures from your company’s portal.

A few things are kept afterwards, for these reasons:

    • Purchase and billing records, for up to 400 days, for accounting and tax and to resolve billing disputes.
    • Backups, which expire within 35 days. They exist to recover the service after a failure.
    • Aggregate statistics, which don’t identify you.
    • If we delete your account for you, for example after an email request, a record of that action in our audit log, including the account’s email address, for up to 400 days.
    • On Rehearse for Teams, the company-held items listed in section 3: company-wide figures, portal messages, and any rehearsal snapshot you shared and didn’t un-share.
    • What Apple, Google and RevenueCat hold about your purchases, under their own policies.

Deleting your account doesn’t cancel a subscription; cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings. The full guide, including how to delete by email if you can’t use the app, is on Delete your account.

    13. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

    • Tell you what we hold about you and how we use it.
    • Give you a copy of your data, in a machine-readable file.
    • Correct or update it. You can change your setup answers yourself from Profile → Reset onboarding.
    • Delete it. You can do this yourself in the app.
    • Stop using it for a particular purpose, or withdraw your consent. Because Rehearse works by processing your practice sessions, withdrawing consent for that means closing your account.

If you hold a Teams seat, your employer is the controller of your Teams data, so some requests about it are for your employer to decide. We’ll help them answer, and tell you if we’ve passed your request on.

    In India

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you also have the right to have your grievances addressed by us, and to nominate someone to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to. If you’re not satisfied with how we handle a grievance, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

In the EU, UK and Switzerland

You also have the right to object to or restrict our use of your data, and to data portability. We rely on performing our contract with you, your consent, our legitimate interests in running and securing the service, and our legal obligations. You can complain to your local data protection authority.

    In the United States

We don’t sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising. Depending on your state, including California, you have the right to know about, access, correct and delete your personal information, and we won’t treat you differently for using those rights.

    How to make a request

Email akil@rehearsenow.app from the address you sign in with, so we can confirm it’s you. We may ask for more information if we can’t verify a request. There’s no charge, and we aim to reply within 30 days.

    14. Where your data is processed

Mobil80 is based in India, but Rehearse runs on servers in the United States (Amazon Web Services, N. Virginia), and OpenAI and LiveKit process session data there too. Some of our other providers may process data in other countries.

So your data will usually be transferred out of the country you’re in. We choose providers that commit to protecting it, your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and we make these transfers as permitted by the laws that apply to us, including India’s DPDP Act.

    15. How we protect it

    • Data is encrypted in transit and stored encrypted at rest.
    • There are no passwords to steal: you sign in with a one-time code sent to your email.
    • Staff access is limited by role, and sensitive actions are logged.
    • On Rehearse for Teams, every request is limited on our servers to the company on the caller’s own seat, and what each person can see is checked against their role on every request.
    • API keys and other secrets are held in managed secret stores, not in our code.
    • Transcripts delete themselves, so old conversations don’t pile up.

More detail, including what we don’t have yet, is on our security page. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we’ll tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

    16. Children

Rehearse is for adults: you must be 18 or older to use it. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18, and if we learn that we have, we delete it. If you think a child is using Rehearse, email akil@rehearsenow.app.

    17. Website cookies and analytics

This website doesn’t use advertising or cross-site tracking.

    • Analytics, only if you agree. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are useful, but only after you accept analytics cookies in the banner. If you decline, or don’t choose, Google Analytics isn’t loaded and sets no cookies. You can change your mind at any time: open cookie settings.
    • Necessary storage only, otherwise. Without your consent, the site keeps only what it needs to work in your browser’s own storage: for example your light or dark theme, and whether you’ve dismissed a banner or badge.
    • It’s hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard request logs, including your IP address, to deliver and secure the site.
    • Its fonts come from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads.
    • Some pages show a Product Hunt badge, which loads an image from Product Hunt, so Product Hunt receives your IP address and browser details.

The Rehearse for Teams portal doesn’t use analytics. It keeps you signed in using your browser’s storage, and nothing else.

Links to the App Store, Google Play or your email app take you to services with their own privacy policies.

    18. Changes to this policy

We’ll update this policy when Rehearse or the law changes, and change the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
